LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS FAIR

I recall vividly crying to my Mom one day when I was about eleven years old that life wasn’t fair because I did not win some sort of award at school. She drew me to herself and said, “During your life you will find that many things we think we want; things we try hard to get; will not be given to us. Life is not always fair but maybe what we want is not what is best for us in the end.”
How does one console a grieving mother at the loss of her son? How do we make sense out of senselessness? At twenty-six years old, with the promise of youth still fresh upon his face, John Francis Almeida left this world and all those who loved him. How do a brother and sister find solace at the death of their sibling? Wasn’t it just a few years ago that they all played together with no worries; just kids. Life was so simple then.
John was finding his way to recovery. He had gotten a wonderful job surrounded by family and friends. He was a proud and loving father to his baby boy Aiden. There was hope for the future and he was embracing that hope.
Some people struggle through the daily grind of life and find it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. John was being supported by his mother Kim, his loving big brother Joseph, his sister Kailie, and his special aunt Tammy.
For John Francis Almeida, a handsome, young man, life has not been so kind. He struggled for years with his issues, never being able to combat his inner problems. On September 6th, 2017, he passed from this world. We can only pray that he will find the peace he could not attain in this life. Maybe, for once, John will find the ‘fairness’ he so longed to attain.
