Bikers Against HeroinOn September 6th, 2017, Bikers Against Heroin, (B.A.H.), a Long Island Based Organization committed to education and awareness of the heroin problem on Long Island, made a donation to Thrive Recovery Center.
On the heels of their most successful fund raising event on Sunday, August 27th, B.A.H. President, Linda Alagna announced, “because of our success with this event, we will be donating $3,100.00 to Thrive Recovery Center for their groundbreaking programs here on Long Island. We will also be donating $3,100.00 to CASJ”.
Thrive, Long Island’s first recovery center is located at 1324 Motor Parkway in Happauge, New York. Their focus is mind, body and spirit based programs to assist those who are building the tools for long term recovery. Thrive’s Director, Jim Malone said, “we are the first recovery center here on Long Island complete with a diverse range of programs and special events. Anyone is welcome to come and participate.”
CASJ, The Community Action for Social Justice is headed by Tina Wolf. This organization represents New York’s first needle exchange program and spearheaded the Narcan Trainer Operation throughout New York. Tina’s work has saved so many and she works hard throughout New York, connecting to those who live with this disease.
The check presentation follows last year’s event where B.A.H. presented LIRA with a check for $2,000.00.
