Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore and Brookhaven Town Councilman Kevin LaValle recently co-sponsored the third Run the Farm 4 Mile Challenge marathon. This event took place at Bethel Hobbs Farm in Centereach, a local volunteer community farm that provides fresh, wholesome produce to those in need. All funds raised will be donated to Bethel Hobbs Farm.
Over 200 participants ran the four mile course, which consisted of both flat and hilly terrain surrounding the Centereach farm. The run was followed by an award ceremony, musical entertainment, and raffle drawings on the grounds.
“The Third Annual Run the Farm was a great community event. Families gathered to cheer the runners on and enjoyed the festivities that followed,” stated Legislator Muratore, who celebrated his birthday that day. “Bethel Hobbs Farm is a great resource for the Centereach area, and it was a pleasure partnering with Councilman LaValle once again to support them.”
