Carl Verdi Pride Award Winner

At the Thursday, August 24, meeting, the Longwood Board of Education presented community resident Christopher Reilly with the Carl Verdi Community Pride Award. This annual award recognizes a person who, over a sustained period, built lasting bridges between the school district and the community.
Mr. Reilly is a dedicated advocate for excellence in public education. He is an active member of the school community serving on numerous Longwood Board of Education committees including Legislative, Safety Awareness and Policy. He participates on the Superintendent’s Budget Advisory Committee, Technology Committee, and is the founding member and treasurer for the Longwood Education and Arts Foundation.
A Coram resident for more than 44 years with three children graduating from Longwood, Mr. Reilly is involved in numerous community associations including the Yaphank Historical Society, Coram Civic Association, Coram Plaza Revitalization Task Force, and the Davis Town Meeting House Society, Inc.
Board of Education President Frank Muraca stated, “Mr. Reilly is a true champion for children. His integrity and dedication to our District speak volumes, and we can see the results of his efforts throughout our school community. We are honored to present him with this award.”
