Family Businesses Merge

Moloney Sinnickson family picSinnickson’s Moriches Funeral Home Inc., has been acquired by Moloney Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Centers. The Sinnickson family has served the communities for over 77 years. Most of the families have known all four generations of Sinnickson’s, Wes and Amy Sinnickson, Thomas and Marie Sinnickson, Lee and Loretta Sinnickson and Keri Sinnickson. Lee wanted to retire by the age of 70, if he could find a family owned funeral operator that would maintain his tradition of professional service. Coming together with the Moloney family has met all of his priorities. “The Moloney family has a reputation for high service standards and I know that all of the communities we serve will appreciate this,” said Lee W. Sinnickson.
“Like the Sinnickson’s, our family have been serving the communities of Long Island for almost 100 years. The timing was right and the Sinnickson’s felt we were best suited to meet the needs of the families in these communities,” said co-owner Peter Moloney.
According to co-owner Dan Moloney, “The purchase of Sinnickson’s Moriches Funeral Home, Inc. will allow the newly formed Moloney-Sinnickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center to continue the high quality of service only a locally owned and family-operated funeral business can offer.”
In addition to Dan and Peter are Dan’s daughter Danielle Moloney-Hasset and Peter’s son Connor M. Moloney, and their nephew Nicholas Wheeler, who are pursuing careers in funeral service to carry on the Moloney tradition. “The sale of a family run business is a big decision for any business owner, and we know that Lee and his daughter Keri put a lot of thought and consideration into their decision. Many families in the area are familiar with Moloney Funeral Homes, and we are grateful for the opportunity to service the families in the area,” continued Peter.
Moloney Funeral Homes operates several locations throughout Long Island and manages an on-site crematory in Lake Ronkonkoma. Many families are preferring cremation disposition following funerals as opposed to traditional ground burial. They are taking this opportunity to include cremation in the name Moloney-Sinnickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center to underscore the importance they place on this service.
Many families have pre-arranged and pre-paid services with Sinnicksons Moriches Funeral Home. These funds are secure and meet all regulations relating to preplanning in NYS approved trust accounts. These accounts will be honored and will remain intact and are not impacted by the sale. Please contact either Peter or Dan at 631-878-0065 if you have any questions about pre planning or if you would like to review your prearrangement on file.
