Helping Children In Need

Wandas Weight RoomThe Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout members and staff will be working out on May 24 & 25 pedaling, lifting, treadmill walking, taking classes, etc wearing their red noses, raising funds and awareness to help end child poverty.
“Because we are passionate about helping children in need, we decided to participate in Red Nose Day by selling our members red noses to wear on May 24-25, while we take group pics to post on our FB page, allowing them to tag themselves. We’ve sold over 500 noses and are optimistic we could reach our goal of 600+ by May 25,” said Wanda Neppell. “Our members will ‘get their noses on’ May 24 so we can FB post and remind other people to get their red noses by May 25, the actual event date.”
Red Nose Day has raised more than $1 billion globally since its launch in the UK in 1988 and more than $20 million in the U.S. in 2016, providing funds for programs that keep children in need safe, healthy and educated, here in the U.S. and across the globe. Money raised has supported such charities as Boys & Girls Club, Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Save the Children as well as other charities.
This year, the Red Nose Day campaign will culminate in a night of special television programming on May 25 at 8 p.m. on NBC. For more information, contact: The Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout, 225 Montauk Hwy., Moriches (631) 878-0005. “We’ve got red noses available for purchase that will help us reach our 600+ red nose goal. Also because we are so passionate about helping children, we’ve just launched out 10th Annual FREE TEEN Summer program!”, said Bruce Bentley, Manager.
