Ed Brennan Named Director of Marketing for BMH Medical Center

Ed Brennan has been named ‘Director of Marketing’ for Brookhaven Memorial Hospital (BMH) Medical Center. As head of the Marketing Department under the Direction of Cynthia Ruf (Vice- President of Branding & Stakeholders Relations), Brennan plays a key role in assisting to communicate the brand, develop internal and external messaging and promote the services of the organization.
Brennan has a wealth of experience in the health care industry. He comes to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center with over 25 years of ad agency experience that includes clients in the health care, hospital pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors, as well as branding disciplines that include but not limited to strategic marketing, print and digital production, digital advertising, social marketing and media relations. Brennan is a volunteer firefighter and EMT-CC in Nassau County’s 9-1-1 system, a disaster responder with the United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Disaster Medical Assistance Team and he has worked as an Emergency Room triage technician and critical care ambulance transport medic for a major medical center.
Founded in 1956, Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, located in East Patchogue, is a full-service, 306 bed, acute care, voluntary, not-for-profit community hospital that delivers high-quality health services in a focused caring and teaching environment while providing health advocacy for the community and the people it serves.

In demonstrating its commitment to the vision statement, BMH Medical Center recently opened the Knapp Cardiac Care Center, a $60 million, 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art cardiac care center which provides advanced interventional cardiac care capabilities. Affiliated with the Heart and Vascular Institute at Winthrop University Hospital, the Knapp Cardiac Care Center provides a full range of high-quality cardiac diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services for patients with heart disease problems. The Cardiac Care Center includes a state-of-the-art interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory, noninvasive cardiology services, electrophysiology services, a cardiac rehabilitation program, and cardiac outreach program. Since opening its doors, the Knapp Cardiac Care Center’s practitioners have performed 374 procedures in its operating room, 4,933 cardiac catheterizations and 1,278 PIC’s (percutaneous cardiac interventions).
