Affiliated with the Knights of Columbus Council, a group of religious Catholic women who reach out and help those less fortunate, known as the Columbiettes, held a benefit Fashion Show at Sunset Harbour in Patchogue. The clothing for the fashion show was donated by “The Dress Barn”. The benefit featured a check presentation from the Columbiettes to the “Brighter Tomorrows” shelter for domestic violence victims. The Columbiettes had their blessing from the James V Kavanaugh Fashion Show Committee and thanked their supporters for all the monetary contributions, the gift cards, and the gift baskets. The many dozens of generous gifts donated were raffled off to the very happy winners, including a bicycle donated by Sidaras Concrete and East End Bicycles.
The hugely successful event was made possible by the many donations given by more than 40 businesses and organizations around the area. The event was organized with the help of chairperson and Columbiette Sandy Rugeris.
