Your Community Library Is Download Friendly

mmscl-banner2Did you know your smartphone, home computer or tablet puts a whole library right in your pocket? Thanks to digital technology, you can now read, listen, or watch your favorite books, magazines, music and videos on the go with the Library’s extensive collection of downloadable media. Your library account gives you access to four exciting collections of digital content thanks to our special licensing agreements with content providers. With the average cost of a streaming movie starting at $5.99 and iTunes songs at $.99 each, using your library card to download content from our collection can save you hundreds of dollars in download fees. All you need to do, in most cases, is download an app from either the Android store, Google Play or iTunes and register with your library barcode number to get started. Any computer, tablet or smartphone running iOS or Android operating system works with the collection. From your computer, go to https://www.communitylibrary.org and select eBooks & Digital Collection. Let’s take a look at what kind of content you can download for free with your library card:
Downloadable MP3 Music – Freegal Music gives you access to over 9 million songs from over 28,000 labels including the popular Sony Music catalog. Songs are current hits and popular favorites – just like on iTunes. You’ll find artists like Rhianna, the Chainsmokers, John Mayer, Chris Young and more. An easy to use search tool lets you search by artist, song, even album. Library users have a download allowance of 5 songs per day, per card and 3 hours per day of streaming.
Stream Movies, Audiobooks, Music, TV shows – Hoopla Digital lets you enjoy thousands of titles – from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers –available to borrow for instant streaming or temporary downloading to your smartphone, tablet and computer.
Download Ebooks and E-audiobooks – Livbrary’s OverDrive and One Click Digital collections give you access to the most popular fiction and nonfiction to read or listen to. Reserve titles just like library books, and borrow them for up to two weeks to read or listen. No worries about returning them, the titles simply deactivate when your borrowing period is up. You’ll find popular bestsellers like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Girl on the Train, All the Light We Cannot See, Hidden Figures, A Dog’s Purpose and more all ready to download right now. You can search by genre or subject and there are even collections for children and teens. Overdrive E-books even work on Kindle Fire tablets as well as Kindle black and white style readers – as well as on Android and iOs devices. You can borrow up to 7 titles on OverDrive.
Download Magazines – Zinio and Flipster provide access to read and download your favorite magazines, including People, Good Housekeeping, Oprah’s O Magazine, Popular Mechanics, Cooking Light and more. Read whole editions online, or download and read later on your tablet or phone. Some great special interest titles are available in the magazine collection, like Beer Conneseuer, Boating, Car and Driver, Quilting, Field and Stream and even Guitar Player.
