A cold, crisp night didn’t diminish the joy of revelers clogging Main Street in Center Moriches for Saturday’s holiday parade sponsored by the Center Moriches Fire Department. Getting into the spirit were local businesses and organizations with a guest appearance by Santa Claus who rode along with the Center Moriches Fire Department. Candy canes flew through the air as many happy kids enjoyed the floats and lights. The day started icy with a wind chill well below freezing. As the sun set, the wind went away leaving everyone comfortable who bundled for the December weather. “It’s such a fantastic event every year,” said Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine who joined Councilman Dan Panico on the town’s Show Mobile. “Everyone in town is so happy and friendly,” said Sherry Cole, visiting her friend Pam, owner of Boulevard Florist, as the parade went by. “It’s such a great night.”
