On Sunday, December 4, 2016, the towns of Mastic and Shirley held their annual Christmas parade. With a significant sized crowd of people present accompanied by beautiful seasonal weather, the afternoon festivities went by with pleasant ease. Throughout the parade, local businesses and volunteer organizations made their way down the streets of Mastic as gatherers applauded their services. The South Shore Press sales manager Fred Towle, chairman of the parade committee, hosted the event from the showmobile in front of the Manor House of Mastic, announcing oncoming floats and community groups that were present at the event. Special appearances were also made by various representatives, including President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics and Shirley Beth Wahl. Trophies and plaques were later given out. It was a very joyful time had by all.
