After a decisive victory over Bay Shore in the first round of the Section XI playoffs, the William Floyd Colonials varsity football team will host the Longwood Lions in the semifinals this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The admission fee is $6, charged by Section XI. Tickets will be available at the gate. Advanced tickets are not available.
First Round Recap: The Colonials dominated Bay Shore 49-12 in front of a spirited crowd behind a stellar defensive performance and seven touchdowns on offense including three Rob Taiani touchdown passes (two to A.J. Ray and one to D’Andre Primus), and four rushing touchdowns (two by Nick Silva and one each by James Taitt and Thomas Verga).
Earlier this season, the Colonials defeated Longwood during the week 5 “Parkway Power Bowl” by a score of 28-6 and will look to repeat that performance and punch their ticket back to the Suffolk County Finals after a four-year absence.
