Superintendent Losquadro, Councilman LaValle and Councilman Foley Announce Paving of Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma

004 (2) (1)Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro joined with Councilman Kevin LaValle and Councilman Neil Foley to announce the completion of the paving of Hawkins Avenue from Division Road to Smith Street in Ronkonkoma.
In addition to the milling and paving of Hawkins, this project involved the rebuilding of a traffic signal at Hawkins Avenue and Division Road; drainage work, including the repair and raising of area basins; and restriping—particularly in the main business district which features substantial on-street parking and numerous crosswalks. The total cost for this paving project was just over $350,000.
“Hawkins Avenue is a main artery in Ronkonkoma that was in need of repair,” said Superintendent Losquadro. “We strategically paved at night to avoid unnecessary disruption to businesses and motorists on this heavily-traveled roadway.”
Councilman LaValle said, “I thank Superintendent Losquadro and the Highway Department for repaving Hawkins Avenue, making it safer for all who use it. The Town is committed to improving our infrastructure and we will be completing more projects like this in the future.”
Councilman Foley said, “Repaving Hawkins Avenue was a priority because it’s one of the busiest roads in Ronkonkoma and all that traffic takes a toll on the pavement. I thank Superintendent Losquadro and the Highway Department for all the work they do in my district and throughout the Town to make our roads safe.”
