West Middle Island Elementary School Students Take High Honors in New York State Poster Contest

School Bus Safety Poster (1)smTwo West Middle Island Elementary School students have been named New York State winners in the 2016 #STOP ON RED! New York Association for Pupil Transportation (NYAPT) Poster Contest.
Third grade student Hunter Koeppen took first place for Division #1 (grades K-2) and second grade student Michael Privitera won third place for Division #4 (special needs). In recognition of their achievement, both students received a monetary prize.
As a first place winner, Hunter’s poster will be submitted to the NYAPT for judging at the national level. The national winner’s poster will be used to promote National School Bus Safety Week in 2017. Entries are judged on safety impact, originality, artistic quality and visual impact.
The National School Bus Safety Poster Contest is sponsored each year by the National Association for Pupil Transportation, the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services and the National School Transportation Association.
