East End Trophy and Awards, Long Island’s Recognition Experts

LogosmmmUntitled-1 copysmmmIn today’s world where consumerism is incredibly fast-paced and dominated by big corporations, it’s nice to see family operated businesses continuing on. East End Trophy and Awards owner, John Sumwalt, is continuing on the business his father started in 1980.
“My mom and dad had a family run business called J M Engraving,” said Sumwalt. “I grew up watching my dad in this business and I would often help. I saw that he developed a reputation for high quality products and that’s something I wanted to continue. In 2012 when he decided to retire, I decided to continue the business as East End Trophy and Awards.”
Sumwalt said there are advancements he’s made to help the business grow, while at the same time, he keeps many of the family values with the business.
“When I opened my business, we moved to more advanced laser engravers,” said Sumwalt. “Personal service is something my dad and mom did for years and giving personal attention to each product is important.” Sumwalt said he often makes home visits for the initial consultation for the client’s convenience.
East End Trophy and Awards offers plaques, trophies, awards, engraved crystal and glasses as well as custom products such as law enforcement shadow boxes. As a law enforcement officer himself, Sumwalt enjoys producing these custom products.
“Having worn the badge, I believe I know what kind of award people would like to receive and what it means to them,” said Sumwalt. “One thing that’s great about this job is people always like to receive awards. That smile that is brought to a persons face when they receive that recognition, I have some small part of that.”
“We really strive to provide the best product at the lowest cost,” said Sumwalt.
