Councilman Panico and Fellow Town Board Members Congratulate Ice Cream Cottage of Mastic for Winning Newsday’s Ice Cream Smack Down Contest

Panico Honors Ice cream CottagesmmmBrookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico was joined by Supervisor Ed Romaine and fellow Town Board members in congratulating the Ice Cream Cottage of Mastic for winning Newsday’s “Ice Cream Smackdown” contest. The Ice Cream Cottage, a small mom and pop shop established in March 1990 by John and Noreen Pastore, was named the #1 ice cream shop in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties by Newsday. Ice Cream Cottage earned this title in 2009, and was also nominated “Best of Long Island” by the Long Island Press from 2008-2011. The Ice Cream Cottage offers homemade ice cream in 60 different flavors, including sorbet, Italian ice, custard and Hawaiian Shaved Ice, as well as candy, cakes, nuts, cookies, waffles and gourmet coffee. The Ice Cream Cottage is located at 1590 Montauk Highway, Mastic.
