Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro recently met with members of the Webelos Cub Scouts, Pack 543 of Patchogue-Medford, at his office in Coram.
In his capacity as Highway Superintendent, as well as a government official who has served in three separate elected offices over the past 12 years, Superintendent Losquadro discussed what is involved in working in government, his role in the Brookhaven community and what it means to be a good citizen. Losquadro stressed the importance of getting involved and ensuring their voices are heard. “Don’t let someone else make decisions for you on Election Day,” he said.
Following their discussion, Superintendent Losquadro and the Scouts toured the Highway Department Stockyard at 1140 Old Town Road in Coram where the boys were able to sit in some of the equipment.
“As a former Boy Scout myself, I was happy to share my experiences with the boys in the Webelos Cub Scouts, as they work toward their ‘Building A Better World’ achievement for their Arrow of Light Award,” Superintendent Losquadro said. “It is never too soon to become involved in local government and better understand our rights and duties as Americans.”
