Assemblyman Dean Murray (R,C,I-East Patchogue) co-hosted an Opioid Overdose Prevention Program with Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk) and the Suffolk County Department of Health Services on Friday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m. Heroin abuse is a serious public health crisis in Suffolk County. This program equips residents with the tools necessary to save the life of an overdose victim. Attendees learned how to recognize an opioid overdose and to safely administer the lifesaving antidote naloxone. Each attendee received their personal authorization card to possess and administer naloxone and a Trainer Overdose Responder kit, consisting of two doses of Naloxone.
