Moriches Elementary School “I’m a Better Person…” Essay Contest Winners

Moriches Oasis contestsmEight Moriches Elementary School students were recently honored by Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing in Center Moriches for their essays focused on promoting “intergenerational awareness throughout the community.” In the contest, students were tasked to write about their elders on the topic, “I am a better person because by grandmother/grandfather/older person taught me…”
For their efforts, the students and their families were welcomed for a recognition ceremony where they received a trophy and had the opportunity to read their essays.
Congratulations to the following students: Larissa Kidney, Dar’ya Kravchuk and Jessica Lugo, fifth-grade students in Christina Fassino/ Jenna Haskins/Jessica Pantke class; Colin Luhrs and Kailey Casanova, fifth-grade students in Nicole Petersen’s class; Grace Cotto and Payton Kurosz, fourth-grade students in Susannah Johnson’s class; and Gabriel Ferriolo, third-grade students in Joshua Haight/Ginine Lucarello’s class.
